  • Susi Hately Tele-classes – up to 20 hours credit
  • Restorative and/or Therapeutic Yoga with Judith Lasater
  • Any Nicholai Bachman workshops
  • Any other program/workshop deemed valid by Program Director

Program to begin Aug 15, 2015

Program deposit is $300 – covering 30 hrs. assisting in the 200 Hour Program.  Each weekend intensive is $195 due prior to the start of the intensive.  Books and outside credit hours are not included in pricing.

All intensive assignments must be completed to earn credit hours.  Participants have two (2) years to complete the program.

Program intensives are split between Castle Hills  (CHY) in Carrollton and Yoga from the Heart (YFTH) in Coppell.

Kick-Off Meeting - YFTH August 15, 2015: Deposits paid; Introductions; program requirement review; Project information presented and discussed.

Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga – YFTH September 26-27, 2015:  Discusses the stages of pregnancy, prenatal anatomy, benefits of asana in pregnancy, contraindications, modifications with props including using a chair, sequencing classes and much more!

Chair/Chair Assisted Yoga – YFTH October 17-18, 2015:  Approximately 24% of the US population is over 50 years of age.  This module prepares teachers to effectively accommodate older students in general population classes including common adjustments and modifications, and training and guidance on teaching Chair and Chair-Assisted Yoga classes. A bound handbook is included.

Breathe into Recovery: Yoga for Addiction & Recovery-CHY November 14-15, 2015: This program is based on teachings of The Twelve Steps and Promises of Alcoholics Anonymous.  Upon completion of the training, teachers will be able to share an additional depth of compassionate and educated skills making them highly qualified for positions connected to treatment facilities and transitional living.

Yogic Philosophy - YFTH January 23-24, 2016: Deep discussion and exploration of the Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and their application on and off the mat.  Develop the skills to incorporate these ancient teachings into your classes.

Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra - YFTH February 20-21, 2016:  Discusses the differences between a Yin and Yang practice; the benefits of a Yin practice, Restorative practice and Yoga Nidra.  Offers suggestions for class structure and will include practicum experience in leading a Yin and Restorative class and using Yoga Nidra as a relaxation and/or meditation tool.

Anxiety and Depression - YFTH March 19-20, 2016: Discusses current research on Yoga and its effects on those with depression and/or anxiety, techniques for helping students to ease the symptoms of depression and anxiety.  Program includes required reading, homework and bound handbook complete with lesson plans and student handouts. 

Yoga for Cancer Patients and The Art of the Private Yoga Session - YFTH April 16-17, 2016:  

Part I- Yoga for Cancer Patients: Guides teachers thru the benefits of yoga and meditation for cancer patients.  Topics include: current Research on cancer; primary, secondary, tertiary patients and asana for each phase; how to modify asana for cancer patients including restorative and chair adaptations; contraindications, precautions and side effects.

Part II - The Art of the Private Yoga Session: Teaching private yoga sessions is not the same as teaching an all levels yoga class, but it gives teachers an additional revenue stream and a creative challenge.  This module will cover all aspects of starting a private yoga practice.  Topics include: the difference between private and group sessions; how to attract and retain private yoga clients; how to structure a private yoga sessions; the business of private yoga.

Putting it all Together – YFTH May 21-22, 2016: We’ll review project progress and discuss series class successes, obstacles and lessons learned.  Consider a variety of ways to piece the project together and overcome the urge to try to put too much information into the project.  Each participant will be prepared to discuss their project and present an overview to the group.

 Managing Your Yoga Business – YFTH June 25-26, 2016: Practical approaches to growing and managing your yoga business, including how to write a business plan and more.  Group discussion on ideas to manage and promote your business from teaching classes to studio ownership.

 In-Depth Exploration of the Chakra System - CHY  July 23-24, 2016: Looking beyond the physical body and into the chakra system, we will delve deeper into understanding the psychological make-up of emotional health and how deeply buried experiences may be the source of the symptoms of physical pain, as well as mental and spiritual imbalances.

Neuroscience & The Five Klesha’s - CHY August 20-21, 2016:  Merging Patanjali's Sutra 2.3 and Contemplative Neuroscience, this program briefly explains neuroscience and is specifically centered around Contemplative Neuroscience which suggests that tapping into the limbic (feeling) part of the brain and making a habit of meditation can strengthen brain circuits responsible for maintaining concentration and creating a life more in harmony with the authentic self. In addition to breath work, meditation tools, and journaling, we will explore The Five Klesha’s (causes of suffering) bringing to light faulty beliefs and working towards re-wiring the brain for greater awareness.

Ayurveda & Yoga Chikitsa "Yoga Therapy” I & II -  Yoga Chikitsa is as old as yoga itself and is a holistic approach to what we may consider Western/Eastern Psychology and/or Asana Therapy. Neither of these are complete therapies alone. Yoga Chikitsa considers the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of an individual and offers an individualized program considering the person's dominate dosha & guna in order to help the individual live a more harmonious life through self-realization and greater connection to the Universe or Cosmic Consciousness. We will explore the physical body & pranic body for greater understanding of the benefits of individualized programs that include an Ayurvedic approach to asana, pranayama, mantra, & mudras for overall well-being.

Part I: The Organic & Subtle Body: September 17-18, 2016: In-depth exploration of anatomy of the shoulder, core and pelvis incorporating asana, pranayama and the emotional (Energy) body with a therapeutic approach.  When we understand our emotions can manifest on a physical level, we understand the power of our thoughts.  Learn how to open, strengthen, and begin to heal at both an energetic and biological level using methods for pain-free movement.

Part II– Yoga and Ayurvedic Lifestyle:  October 15-16, 2016: Continuing our study of Yoga Chikitsa, we will practice developing programs for individuals, including various life stages and populations, such as Children, Women, and the Elderly.  Because we learn best through experience, we will develop and explore a Yoga and Ayurveda Lifestyle plan tailored for you to personally to follow for 40 Days. Additionally we will explore Jyotish or Vedic Astrology and How each of the planets represents different spiritual and psychological factors and potentials in your life, as well as how the signs/planets relate to the doshas, gunas. elements, chakras.  *If interested, Full Birth Chart Reading consultations are available for an additional $200. These consultations run for two hours and are specific to your life tendencies and Karmic Lessons.  An additional 2 Hours of CEUs can be added.

Project Presentation Weekend - YFTH November 12-13, 2016:  Each participant will develop and present a unique, specialized program designed to meet the needs of a special population (elderly, handicapped, addicts, runners, golfers, etc.).  The program will include anatomy, back-up research, lesson plans, hand-outs and more.  A detailed outline and requirements provided during the Kick-Off Meeting.
